Mulled Wine

Ingredients
  

  • 1 Anise & Clove mulled wine spice pack
  • 200 g caster sugar
  • 2 bottles red wine
  • 1 clementine optional
  • 4 slices orange
  • 4 slices lemon
  • 4 slices lime

Instructions
 

  • In a large saucepan, add in the sugar, orange, lemon and lime slices. If using clementine, add in the skin and squeeze in the juice.
  • Add in contents of the spice pack except for the star anise. Pour just enough wine to cover the sugar. On medium heat, bring to a simmer.
  • Simmer, stirring occasionally until sugar has completely dissolved then bring to a boil. Boil for 4-5 minutes or until it becomes a thick syrup.
  • Turn down heat to low, add in the star anise and the rest of the wine. Gently heat for 5 mins until its warm. Serve and garnish
